The Indiana Academy Plan
The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities is a unique public learning environment for juniors and seniors of Indiana. It is unique because it brings together 300 of Indiana’s finest minds to work with a highly qualified and dedicated faculty in a residential setting in an effort to change the world for the better. The students represent all backgrounds including rich and poor, small town and urban, black, white, Hispanic, Middle Eastern and Asian. In essence, the Indiana Academy is a microcosm of the world.
In this world-class school, future leaders are challenged to become their best selves and as alumni they distinguish themselves in myriad occupations. To that end, they are immersed virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a community of gifted and exceptional learners. They make significant sacrifices to live and study at the school, giving up creature comforts and immediate access to family and friends. They strive to learn and to improve themselves in preparation to become change agents in the world, and they have done so.
The contributions that the Indiana Academy has made to the lives of our 1,700+ alumni are immeasurable. It is evident that our alums continue to impact and enrich the world because they have been touched by love of learning, betterment of the human condition, and excellence in every facet of life.
In the spirit of building a brighter future for the Academy and continuing the legacy, the academic leaders and a dedicated group of graduates have bonded together to initiate “The Indiana Academy Plan.” This plan is a special initiative designed to strengthen, sustain, and advance our beloved institution. The Indiana Academy community is committed to a broad-based effort to garner support and resources that will benefit our highest priorities.
These priorities include:
| Scholars Fund | Assists students who could not otherwise afford to attend the Academy due to newly added Housing Fees. |
| Impact Fund | A set of initiatives that impact important student needs and programs. This fund assists with technological advances needed for students, academic field trips for students, extra curricular field trips to meet Academy Requirements, registration fees for students to attend camps and conferences, and the Academy Student Parliament. |
| Academy Fund | Provides the administration with a broad range of discretionary resources where needed most. This fund will assist the Co-Directors in enhancing the Academy for all those inside her walls. |
Each fund uniquely supports an important aspect of the Academy. When completed, the Indiana Academy Plan will strengthen our great school and support a new generation of gifted students.
