Off-campus study is an important part of all degree programs in Ball State University's College of Architecture and Planning. Regional field trips, international tours, and study-abroad programs let students explore environmental design and planning in diverse settings and cultures, giving them a global perspective.
These programs are based on the premise that the best design and planning decisions are rooted in a broad experiential foundation with multicultural sensitivity. Participants gain experience unavailable by other means, learning about a variety of approaches to solving real problems.
Some groups take trips to significant sites, while others attend national and international conferences in their field.
Over the years, CAP's collegewide and departmental field study programs have included visits to Italy, Germany, Greece, the former Soviet Union, China, India, Southeast Asia, Australia, Mexico, South America, Canada, and many regions and cities in the United States.
