All applicants must turn in sealed official transcripts for all undergraduate course work attempted from EACH institution, including BSU, at the time of application.
To be considered for admission to the program through the general admission process, you must:
1. Have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours of course work (preference will be given to students who have completed this course work at Ball State).
2. Have cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher based on a minimum of 30 credit hours completed.
3. Prerequisite courses for nursing may be repeated one time only for a grade of C (2.00) or higher.
4. Have credit in ANAT 201, BIO 113, CHEM 101, PSYSC 100, and SOC 100 with a grade of C (2.0) or better. These courses can be or have been repeated only on time to obtain a grade of C or above.
5. Have credit in PHYSL 215 with a grade of C (2.0) or better or enrollment in these courses at the time application is submitted. These courses can be or have been repeated only one time to obtain a grade of C or above.
6. Disclose criminal background. Applicants need to be aware they may not be admitted based on their criminal background.
Students who meet all of the criteria above except for the GPA of 3.0 may apply for provisional admission.
If you are selected for admission to the baccalaureate nursing program and do not accept a space in the class, you must reapply if you later change your mind and wish to enter the program.
Selection Process
All undergraduate college credits attempted will be included in the computation of the cumulative grade point average, including all attempted transfer hours. The only exception will be for students who choose the "clean slate" policy option. The "clean slate" policy allows students to choose whether to delete all course work that is 10 years old or more from credits counted toward the nursing degree. You must obtain permission to use the "clean slate" policy from the School of Nursing prior to submitting your application.
All applicants will be ranked from high to low by total GPA.
