Profile
| Tonja McClain teaches Nursing 232 Basic Concepts, and feels that this fundamental course provides the building blocks for nursing. She strives for the students to embrace the lifelong value of nursing and truly apply the knowledge learned in this course.
Tonja's years of clinical experience in the areas of coronary care, intensive care, and community health validate her teaching in the baccalaureate program. Prior to working at Ball State University, she was also a faculty member for an LPN program. Her philosophy of education relies heavily on the concept of mentoring students, and her goal is to create an open interactive environment where students can ask questions and converse. Tonja frequently asks students to assess their learning: what their expectations are and how they learn. Their perceptions and success are important to her.
