The Communication and Media building will open for classes in Fall 2007. The building, which will connect to the existing Ball Communication Building and Robert Bell Building, will bring all four CCIM departments under one roof. The Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS), Communication Studies, Journalism, and Telecommunications will soon be located in the single, three-building complex.

The $21 million building was designed by MSKTD and Associates, Inc. and the general contractor is W. A. Sheets Co., both of Fort Wayne, Ind. This will be a "green building." The goal for this project is to keep in excess of 50 to 75% of all construction waste out of landfills through recycle/reuse efforts. Mike Planton, of Landscape Services, reuses even the dirt that is generated through the excavation phase of this project.
