Experience feast of unique music and captivating voices! Aaron Copland wrote The Tender Land in 1952. The opera tells of a depression era Midwest farm family. Copland created the orchestral suite from its music in 1958. This anniversary year saw the passing of Vaughan Williams, influential English composer of symphonies, chamber music , opera , choral music, and film scores. The Tuba Concerto is one of his most popular works and includes Dr. Mark Mordue in a solo appearance. Dona Nobis Pacem is a beautiful piece of music that includes a choir and large orchestra, plus soprano and baritone soloists.
