Additional Information

Experience a unique multimedia tribute to the spirit of exploration featuring evocative music and readings written by and about great explorers, and images from National Geographic. First Person: Stories from the Edge of the World is a remarkable collaboration involving National Geographic, NPR's Neal Conan, and the Celtic/early music crossover group Ensemble Galilei. Spectacular photographs and images are projected on a large on-stage screen, accompanied by Neal Conan's compelling narration of original texts from some of the world's greatest explorers, and the gorgeous music of Ensemble Galilei. The photographs from the National Geographic Image Collection are unparalleled. The music of Ensemble Galilei is extraordinary – Bach, traditional Scottish fiddle music, medieval dances and original compositions.

This free program is underwritten by the Marie Smith Gray Lecture Series.
