*State licensing regulation for infants is one adult per four infants; one adult per five toddlers and 2-year-olds; and one adult per seven 30-36 month-old children. 

Who Will be Working With My Child At The Infant/Toddler Lab?

The staff at the Child Study Center consists of:

  • Director: oversees daily procedures in areas of enrollment, maintenance requests, financial matters, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Infant/Toddler Lab Coordinator: supervise the staff and students and coordinate their interaction with the children.  The lab coordinator also teaches the college infant and toddler development courses.
  • Graduate Assistants: serve as lead teachers planning and implementing the daily schedule.  The graduate assistants are responsible for the supervision of the children, preparing the environment, and directing the lab students.
  • Practicum Students: attend each day the children are in attendance and serve as the assistant teachers.
  • Student Assistants: students who are employed to assist at the Center.
  • Lab Students Enrolled in Infant & Toddler Development and Education Courses: each spend 2 ¾ hours a week at the Lab.  Each student is assigned as a primary caregiver to 1-2 children.  They interact with the children, provide guidance, plan and implement activities, and complete assignments based on observations and interaction with the children.
