She is presently writing a book on slavery and resistance in Southern Sudan and has edited and contributed to two books on northeast Africa, she has edited and contributed to one special journal on women in the Horn of Africa and has written a number of articles. Beswick is currently the president of the Sudan Studies Association. She is also the director of Ball State's African Studies Program. FALL 2009 Courses:
