Audio: Muncie as Affordable Real Estate

A national report by real estate company Coldwell Banker has ranked Muncie as the nation’s fifth most affordable real estate market.  The company charted prices of a typical four-bedroom, two-bathroom home around the country.  In Muncie, a house of that size can be had for just over $100,000.  The Home Listing Report names Muncie’s popular prep sports programs as a draw to the area.  Janet Malik works with Coldwell Banker’s media campaign.  She summed up the findings of the report.

Muncie has made the list in previous years, and in the past has been ranked as the most affordable college town.  Nationally, Detroit, Michigan was named as the most affordable market… where a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home sells for about $68,000.  The same house in Newport Beach, California – the nation’s most expensive market – costs more than $1.8 million.
