The Indiana State Health Department has confirmed an outbreak of measles in Noble County.  Five cases of measles have been confirmed, but state Health Commissioner Dr. Gregory Larkin says even one case of the measles is considered an outbreak – due to the rarity of the infection. Larkin suspects un-immunized Hoosiers who traveled abroad or foreign visitors to the state are to blame.  Larkin says parents should get their children vaccinated against measles.  He says many have started to spread out vaccinations over fears that the shots may lead to autism.
