StateImpact Indiana: Opt Out

Every Indiana third grader will take a new reading exam in March.  This year, for the first time, every student who doesn’t pass it can’t move on to the fourth grade.  That’s raised concerns about the increasingly high stakes of standardized testing.  In small numbers, some parents are even organizing resistance.  As StateImpact Indiana’s Kyle Stokes reports, one group of parents has what sounds like a simple plan — don’t let their kids take the tests.
