Purdue University’s Board of Trustees made official its next choice of university president today, confirming its rumored pick of Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Sam Klemet reports.
Many Indiana legislators are voicing their opinion on Purdue’s choice today. Republican state Senator Dennis Kruse is the Senate Education Committee chairman. He says the governor’s lack of academic experience shouldn’t hurt him in his new job.
Democratic state Representative Scott Pelath agrees that the governor is qualified for the job. But Pelath says he’s uncomfortable about the logistics of the board’s choice.
