StateImpact Indiana: Vouchernomics

Indiana House members passed a bill expanding the state’s school voucher program this week. Currently, the state will help cover private school tuition for families of four making up to $63,000 per year. The Senate’s approval of the plan would make even more families eligible. Then there’s this change: the bill steps up the amount of tuition the voucher covers, from $4,500 now to $5,500 in 2015. As StateImpact Indiana’s Kyle Stokes explains, voucher advocates hope that part of the bill will solve a problem.
