StateImpact Indiana: Construction Referenda

Three Indiana school corporations will ask voters this month to approve major construction projects. Districts are still learning how to sell referenda to taxpayers — before 2008, schools could levy up to $2 million in bonds without appealing to taxpayers. But as StateImpact Indiana’s Elle Moxley reports, for the districts that have succeeded, it might not be long before they come back to ask for more money.
