Indiana Senator Dan Coats is traveling the Hoosier state this week to support a one-year delay for the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate requirement. Right now, those without health insurance coverage have until March 31st to enroll or face penalties through the I-R-S. Republican Senator Coats says it’s up to him and other Republican congressmen and women to offer a better alternative to Americans.
The federal insurance exchange website has not been able to support the amount of people signing up for healthcare options. President Barack Obama has said there are no excuses for the glitches. Several Democratic senators are asking the president to support a delay in the penalties.
