Search Continues for Missing Muncie Y.O.C. Worker

Muncie officials continue the search for a Youth Opportunity Center employee who’s been missing since Monday, after her car was found Thursday morning. The 1997 Pontiac Sunfire belonging to 40-year-old Kimberly Nelson was found yesterday at a trailhead in McCulloch Park. Police say they found nothing to indicate that anything happened in or near the vehicle. Police today continued searching the White River, and a wooded area near the vehicle. Nelson was last seen by employees at the Youth Opportunity Center when she left work about 6:30 a.m. Monday. The Star Press adds that she was captured on an ATM surveillance camera at WGE Federal Credit Union, about an hour after she left work.

Fallen Firefighter’s Wife and Friends React to Death

State and federal officials are investigating a fire that consumed a Muncie church Wednesday. The blaze injured two firefighters and took the life of another–40 year-old Scott Davis. In this report, IPR’s Terry Heifetz has more on Davis’s life, and the loved-ones and memories he leaves behind.

The two others hurt in the fire were Lieutenant Alan Richards and Firefighter Shane Mann. Both sustained minor injuries and are expected to fully recover.
