Marcus Jackman grew up in the St. Louis area, attending the University of Missouri-Columbia. He graduated magna cum laude with honors in English along with a minor in theater. His senior year, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Marcus earned his Master’s Degree in English Literature at Minnesota State University (then Mankato State). Following that, he spent a year teaching English conversation in South Korea. He came to Muncie in 1995 to study at Ball State, but was sidetracked into radio as an announcer and board operator on evenings and weekends at then WBST. Marcus became a full-time employee in the Fall of 1999. He hosted IPR’s local broadcast of All Things Considered from 1999 to 2007 until he was named GM.
