The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is now offering free access to driver records online. Previously, the BMV charged $4 for people to look at their records online, with an $8 charge for a certified copy of those records. As of Wednesday, access to those records is now free of charge, and a certified copy is $4. Dennis Rosebrough is the BMV Deputy Commissioner.
Rosebrough says one feature of the online records is the ability to check reinstatement requirements for a driver whose license has been suspended. The records are available online at myBMV.com.
Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
