Indiana’s Veterans Courts

Earlier this year, the state inaugurated its fourth veterans court – a special legal division which offers counseling and probation to those with backgrounds in military service. The courts raise questions about possible violations of the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause. But legal experts say the need to treat servicemen and women with war wounds may outweigh worries that non-veterans don’t get access to the same types of treatment. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Stan Jastrzebski reports.
