Muncie requires registration of mopeds

If you live in Muncie and own a moped or scooter, you will soon need to register that vehicle with the city. Beginning April 4th, moped owners with vehicles under 50ccs must bring their scooters to the Muncie Police Department for inspection and registration. The initial registration fee is thirty-five dollars and is good for one year. Each year after, moped owners will be charged fifteen dollars for a renewal and another inspection. Through April 30th, the Muncie Police Department will give warnings for unregistered mopeds. In May, they will begin issuing fines.
