An amendment by House Democrats to place Right to Work on a statewide referendum has been redrafted and filed, but Democrats remain off the floor. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports.
While the Democrats remain off the House floor, Republicans continue to hand down $1,000-a-day fines for the third straight day, even after a Marion County judge halted collection of those fines. The judge ruled late yesterday that while the House could still assess fines, they could not dock legislators’ pay in order to collect. House Speaker Brian Bosma says as long as the Democrats remain off the floor, the fines will be assessed. He says Republicans are investigating other ways to collect the fines as the court case continues.
