With about a month left before the deadline for applications, the Indiana State Fair Commission has received only 19 claims for money from the Relief Fund. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports.
Wreckage from the State Fair stage will soon be removed from the fairgrounds to an off-site facility as the investigation into the August collapse continues. Thornton Tomasetti is the engineering firm examining the structural collapse of the stage. Scott Nacheman is the firm’s vice president. He says nearly every part of the collapse site has been catalogued.
The firm says results of the structural investigation are about six to eight months away. State Fair Commission chair Andre Lacy says an investigation into preparedness and emergency response is on track to end around the same time.
