Indiana’s Senate Democrats want to tackle job creation. The minority party is requesting the Commerce and Economic Development Committee hear four bills they call the “Real Idea, Real Jobs” package. Senate Democratic Leader Vi Simpson says the goal is to particularly spark jobs for small businesses.
One of the measures calls for a new employee tax credit that would extend to businesses that hire even one employee.
The credit currently is given only to those with at least ten new workers. Simpson also is asking Governor Mitch Daniels to lift a moratorium on state infrastructure and university construction projects using public funds.
