StateImpact Indiana: Pre-K Funding

Indiana is one of 11 states that doesn’t provide state money for preschool. Community groups, philanthropic organizations, and even local businesses have stepped in to fill the void. Governor-elect Mike Pence touted these efforts on the campaign trail as one way to get funding for pre-K education. But some early-education advocates criticize this approach as piecemeal. As StateImpact Indiana’s Elle Moxley reports, they say it will take state funding to make sure all Indiana students are ready to start school.
