On July 1, the school management companies tapped to turn around five Indiana schools get the keys to the buildings. That date has loomed over students and teachers in the Gary and Indianapolis schools since the state announced the moves last summer. StateImpact Indiana’s Kyle Stokes visited a teacher at an Indianapolis takeover school on the second-to-last day of a difficult school year, and brings us this profile.
