Indiana’s three largest universities increased tuition this year with promises to offset the increased costs with more scholarships. However, many of these funds are tied to endowments, and the instability of the financial markets may decide whether the schools can honor these promises. StateImpact Indiana’s Ben Skirvin recently spoke to people at all levels of the scholarship process – from endowment managers to financial aid officers – and to students concerned about how to pay for their education.
