StateImpact Indiana: Teaching Cursive

Indiana education officials made international headlines over the summer after they decided the state would no longer require its schools to teach cursive writing.  State guidelines now emphasize teaching kids to type.  But as StateImpact Indiana’s Kyle Stokes reports, some researchers worry losing focus on handwriting in general — not just cursive — could have huge consequences for students’ growing brains.
