“The Circus in Winter” musical premieres at Ball State

Drive an hour and a half northwest of Muncie and you’ll find Peru, Indiana, the former winter quarters for the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus and the setting of The Circus in Winter, a musical premiering tonight at the Ball State University Theatre. The musical is based on a fictionalized historical novel by Cathy Day that chronicles life in the circus. IPR’s Sarah Phinney reports.
