“Simplifying your perspective, seeing the unnoticeable, having the humility of a child, and building a sustainable future.”
According to lead singer Eian OʼBrien, that is what Ellus Bellus means.
As good friends from high school, Eian OʼBrien and Brennan Walls were always playing music together, finding common inspiration in their roots. After graduating high school, each of them went their separate ways to play college football, but returned home after suffering the same shoulder injury. Reuniting at home base, the duo found comfort in each otherʼs friendship & music once again.
It wasnʼt long until Eian and Brennan found that they could not only play music together, but create it together. They began writing, experimenting with different sounds, and finally, they stopped thinking and wrote from the heart.
After a year of writing and performing over seventy-five times as a duo, Ellus Bellus wanted a larger sound. Thatʼs when drummer and old high school friend, Stephen Froula, hit the scene. His drumming compliments Brennanʼs rhythmic guitar and Eianʼs melodic & heartfelt lyrics, while continuing to use the original duoʼs 1973 Hartmann suitcase as his kick drum.
Shortly thereafter, the band picked up Trem Butler, who they like to call the ʻX-Factorʼ. Trem plays bass, mandolin, ukelele, and accordion for the group. He helps bring timeless instrumentation, with an edge.
The band is currently booking and recording their repertoire of music. You can download what they’ve released so far for free at their website.
