Walk the Moon (stylized as WALK THE MOON) is an indie rock band based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lead singer and Ohio native Nicholas Petricca started the band in 2008 and went through several member changes before finally coming together with current members, Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman sometime in 2010. The band derives their name from the song “Walking on the Moon” by The Police. The group independently released their debut album, i want! i want!, in November 2010, receiving airplay for the track “Anna Sun” on WCRD,WFPK, WKNH, and WTMD. In February 2011, Walk the Moon signed with Mick Management. They signed to RCA Records and released their first official album, Walk the Moon in June 2012. Their self-titled debut is composed of many of their original tracks from i want! i want!in addition to new tracks that were written specifically for the album and were meant to reflect the kind of energy the band produced in their live shows.

SPIN Magazine has described them as a “poppy, art-rock quartet”. They were also deemed a Nylon Magazine Band Crush for their “swirly pop beats, infectious guitar riffs, and loud, sing-a-long choruses.”

Formed in 2008, Shiny and the Spoon quickly established itself as one of the most intimate and honest folk acts in the Midwest. Videos of living room performances gained viral status, while a tightly knit group of fans packed perfor- mances in listening rooms and local “dive” bars. The past year has been their most momentous to date, with the addition of veterans Pete Brown and Matt Frazer, and release of their first full-length album: Ferris Wheel, produced by Afghan Whigs’ John Curley. Born into a tightly knit, small town community in Pennsylvania, he is the son of a funeral director and the much loved black sheep of a large family. A self-proclaimed “Art Kid From the Country”, Lucas began his creative journey in musical theater productions, choirs, and garage bands before moving first to Pittsburgh, then to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music (’06 Songwriting graduate), to Philadelphia for 3 years, then to New York City. Eventually “Music City” beckoned, landing him in Nashville, TN, where he currently resides when not on the road. His songs are colorful sonic tapestries, contrasting the mundane and often comic reality of life in rural America against the cultural diversity and fast pace of the cities he’s called home.Since releasing the “Art Kids From the Country” EP 6 years ago, Lucas has played over 500 shows, sold over 5,000 albums and digital downloads completely independently, plus created “The Pixelated Path” (2008) and “Evolution/Mystery” (2010), his most ambitious work to date. Both EP’s, produced with Los Angeles based friend and producer David Bowick, venture into new sonic territory, combining beats generated from samples of office equipment, classic synthesizer sounds, beatboxing, and even a desk chair rolling across the floor, with organic instrumentation that included fretless guitar, Irish tin whistles, nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle), and toy pianos.Currently, Lucas is on the road, sharing his high octane, electro-acoustic show with fans across the country.
