Rachel Howard has been Digital Initiatives Librarian at the University of Louisville since 2006, where she has presided over the creation of 27 CONTENTdm collections featuring digitized and born-digital images, maps, oral histories, manuscripts, yearbooks, and electronic theses and dissertations.
Her prior work with digital cultural heritage projects includes the Library of Congress' American Memory site; Smithsonian Institution's Global Sound; and the Cornell University/University of Washington-led Global Performing Arts database. She also served as Project Manager of the IMLS National Leadership Grant that produced the CONTENTdm-based King County Snapshots collaborative image website involving the University of Washington, Museum of History & Industry, and more than a dozen smaller museums and historical societies in the Seattle area. She holds an MLIS from the University of Washington and a B.A. in History from the University of Notre Dame. |
