ReedDefined Trio

Members of the ReedDefined Trio in a casual pose.

ReedDefined is a faculty reed trio formed in 2007 consisting of Timothy Clinch, oboe, Elizabeth Crawford, clarinet, and Keith Sweger, bassoon.  French musicians of the legendary Société des Instruments à Vent, entranced with the "richly sonorous and versatile sound" that presents the oboe, clarinet, and bassoon in a unique and intriguing way, pioneered this combination in the early twentieth century. Composers such as Francaix, Canteloube, Milhaud, Ibert, Auric, and Bozza responded by composing a wide range of virtuosic and beguiling works for reed trio.

ReedDefined presents this rich repertoire in public recitals, conference performances, and master classes at the university and high school levels.
