A nationally certified music teacher, Rhoden maintains an active schedule as a soloist, collaborative artist, clinician, and adjudicator. Recent collaborative performances have included the 2007 International Clarinet Association Conference and the 2006 International Double Reed Society Conference. Rhoden has presented concerts, conference sessions, and research posters in Hong Kong, Korea and throughout the United States, including presentations for the World Piano Pedagogy Conference, College Music Society national conference, Music Teachers National Association national conferences, the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy, and various state and local associations. She has been a piano faculty member at the annual summer international Masterworks Festival since 2002, and has been the piano program director for Masterworks since 2006. Dr. Rhoden is currently a member of the research committee of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy and has written articles for American Music Teacher, Clavier and Keyboard Companion. Dr. Rhoden completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at the University of South Carolina. She received the Master of Church Music degree and Performer’s Certificate in piano from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, in addition to a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Certificate in Piano Performance from Florida State University. Rhoden has studied piano with Maurice Hinson, Charles Fugo, Leonard Mastrogiacomo, Carolyn Bridger, Leonidas Lipovetsky, and Karyl Louwenaar Leuck. An active member of Music Teachers National Association, she is currently serving on MTNA collegiate chapter committees. She is Immediate Past President of the Indiana Music Teachers Association, and also serves as the chair of the state collegiate chapters of MTNA / IMTA. Dr. Rhoden is a member of the College Music Society, Music Teachers National Association, Indiana Music Teachers Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Kappa Phi, and the Christian Performing Artists Fellowship.
