The Office of Information Technology (IT) will use knowledge gained from the survey to improve technological utilization, support and services available to students.
"Students have vast knowledge about different types of technology," said Bizhan Nasseh, special assistant to the vice president for information technology. "Their advice is very valuable in order for IT to better satisfy their needs for today and plan for the future."
The survey asks students about their general technology needs and their opinions about technology enhancements Ball State should focus upon.
The survey is available at the following university Web sites: www.bsu.edu/advising, www.bsu.edu/sa, www.bsu.edu/technology, www.bsu.edu/uc/student, www.bsu.edu/advisingcenters, www.bsu.edu/studentservices and www.bsu.edu/library.
It takes about three minutes to complete the survey, which was designed with input from Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and the Office of Academic Assessment and Institutional Research.
The student survey comes after a faculty survey in November that achieved more than 70 percent participation. Results from that survey are being reviewed.
