Cho's success as one of the country's premier comedians is as much for her distinctive humor as for her enormous contributions as a social equalizer. Born and raised in San Francisco, Cho began doing stand-up comedy at the age of 16.
Her career has included a busy national touring schedule, a stint on the short-lived sitcom "All-American Girl," an off-Broadway one-woman show "I'm the One That I Want," several films of her performances and two books.
Cho is a winner of the First Amendment Award from the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California and the 2003 Intrepid Award from the National Organization for Women (NOW). She has also been recognized by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), Lambda Legal, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) and the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) for making a significant difference in promoting equal rights for all, regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender identity.
Comedians Bruce Daniels and Kurt Hall will be the opening acts.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to benefit the Damien Center of Indianapolis. Tickets are available at the Emens Box Office until 4:30 p.m. April 24.
