Alfonzo, a fluorescent seven-foot-tall dragon, will serve as the master of ceremonies and will be accompanied by Merlin, a laser-wielding magician. The two fairy-tale characters will be surrounded by a fiber-optic scene of a moonlit castle and will introduce acts involving hoop rolling, plate-spinning and juggling everything from running chainsaws to cigar boxes. The pair will even invite young audience members up on stage to be a part of the show.
Lazer Vaudeville was founded in 1987 by juggler Carter Brown, who toured with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Joining Brown is Cindy Marvell, the first woman to win the solo championship of the International Juggler's Association, and Jeffrey Daymont, people's choice award winner at the International Jugglers Festival.
The show recently performed at the Smithsonian Institute and has been featured in two PBS specials.
