This position is Program Specialist, statewide position contributing to the implementation of Part C within the Department of Community Health, Public Health Administration. Salary range is $24.68-35.50/hour. The individual in this position develops program policies and procedures for administrative review and implementation of interagency systems for serving infants and toddlers who are developmentally delayed or have diagnosed medical conditions in accordance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA); provides statewide consultation and technical assistance to local health departments and other associated community health agencies and managed care organizations to assist them in coordination of services and development and implementation of client identification and service systems.
Additionally, this position represents public health programs on statewide issues related to the 14 federally required components of Part C and provides leadership in the areas of medical conditions and coordination with public health programs.
Education
Possession of a master's degree in public health or a public health related field such as nursing, epidemiology, health education, dietetics/nutrition management, genetics, or speech and audiology; a master's degree in public administration with a health care administration concentration; a master's degree in social work with concentration in community organizations/settings; master's degree in counseling with concentration in community agencies, or masters degree in special education with specialization in blind/visual disabilities.
Experience
Four years of professional, post-master's experience as a consultant in a field of public health equivalent to a Public Health Consultant, including two years equivalent to a Public Health Consultant P11 or one year equivalent to a Public Health Consultant 12.
