Learn to Swim
Learn to Swim is designed to teach children everything from just being comfortable in the water, floating, coordinating arm and leg movements to learning proper breathing, the different competitive strokes, and diving (ages 6 month to 13).

Category
P-Tot (6mth - 3 yrs)
Class is designed to help children feel comfortable in the water while with their parent/guardian. Skills taught include: water adjustment, supported front and back float, jumping for side of pool to parent, passing, blowing bubbles, towing, safety/awareness skills, interaction with children, songs and games
Pollywog (6mth - 3 yrs)
Class is designed for children who have already participated in the PTOT level and feel comfortable swimming without a parent in the water, but who are not quite ready to advance to Level 1, generally because of their younger age. Skills taught include: water adjustment, supported front and back float, jumping from side of pool to instructor, passing, blowing bubbles, towing, safety awareness/skills, interaction with children, songs, and games. The goal of this level is to provide a smooth transition from PTOT to Level 1
Level 1
Class is designed to help children feel comfortable in the water without parent assistance. The class continues to work with children becoming comfortable in the water, learn front and back floating with an introduction to gliding, submerging underwater, and safety awareness/skills. Other skills taught include entering and exiting the water, and supported front and back kicking.
Level 2
Class is designed for children who feel comfortable in the water and can front and back float and kick using a kickboard. Front and back glides will be refined. Introduction to back crawl, front crawl, rhythmic breathing, elementary backstroke, sitting dives, and safety awareness/skills
Level 3
Class is designed for children who feel comfortable floating, kicking, and gliding without assistance. Children will work on front and back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Introduction to diving, treading water, surface dives and safety awareness/skills.
Level 4
Class is designed for children to refine elementary backstroke, diving, treading water, surface dives and front and back crawl. Introduction to breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, survival floating, turns, and safety awareness/skills
Level 5
Class is designed for children who are comfortable with the front and back crawl, treading water, elementary backstroke and diving. Students will learn stroke technique and mechanics. Refinement of butterfly, sidestroke, breaststroke, and turns will also be perfected. Introduction to lifesaving techniques and safety awareness/skills will be taught
