The Masters Swimming program offers a workout that meets any swimmer’s needs. During practices all swimmers will complete similar yet personalized workouts with distances and sets modified depending on ability. The coaching staff will help you define measurable goals and choose appropriate workouts allowing you to measure your progress
Our participants swim for a variety of reasons:
- Making new friends
- Cardiovascular endurance
- Opportunities to participate in competitions
- Getting in shape
- Practicing a safe exercise while healing from injury
- Cross-training for triathlons and other sports
- Improving strokes, turns and starts
- Relieving stress
- Working out with a group that has a common interest in swimming
- Preparation for the New Year's Resolution Meet, held every January in Lewellen Aquatic Center
Spring Practice Times
We practice 3 times a week - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Sessions will begin on Tuesday, January 17th. Sessions will end on April 29th, 2017.
Sessions on Tuesdays/Thursdays will be from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Lewellen Pool. Tuesdays/Thursdays will be shared with Open Recreation.
Sessions on Saturdays will be from 8:30am - 9:30am at Ball Gym Pool.
*No sessions during Spring Break (March 6th - March 12th)
If you are registering for The Masters Swim Club from an off-site location, you must pay by credit Card (visa, master card or discover). If you would like to pay by cash, check or wellness voucher (professional staff only), please discontinue this form and stop by the Rec Center Main Office between 7:30am-6pm Mon-Fri to complete your registration! Masters Swim FAQ
Am I able to use the pool during non-Masters times?
Non-Affiliates that purchase a Masters pass will only have access during scheduled Master’s times. Alumni and approved Ball Memorial Residents and their spouses/domestic partners will need to purchase a facility membership (each $55/semester or $155/year). All BSU faculty, staff, students and their spouses/domestic partners and children under the age of 24 will have unlimited pool access during normal pool hours.
What about parking?
You may visit the Parking Services office in the basement of the Student Center to purchase a pass (non-students, faculty, staff only). Contact them at 285-1208 for more information. You can also park on Riverside Avenue – abiding by Muncie parking meter policies.

ORDER OF THE MEET: will be deck seeded according to times submitted, regardless of age and gender. Heats will run slowest to fastest, with the exception of the 500 freestyle, which run fastest to slowest. Heat and lane assignments for all events will be posted by 11:00am.

Swimming uses almost all of your major muscle groups!
The only times Recreation Services will issue refunds are for the following:
-Recreation Services cancels the class due to lack of enrollment
-Participants relocate from the university
-Participants have a documented medical issue that prevents them from participating
