Graduate Programs Overview

M.A. Programs

The Department of English offers three programs leading to the Master of Arts degree:

• M.A. in English (with a General, Rhetoric and Composition, Creative Writing or Literature emphasis),
• M.A. in Linguistics, and
• M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (with a double major in Linguistics and TESOL option).

Ph.D. Programs

The Department of English offers a doctor of Philosophy degree in English with three options:

• Applied Linguistics
• Rhetoric and Composition
• Literature
