Ball State University's Teachers College has a national reputation as a leader in professional education. Our graduate programs have small class sizes that enable students to form close working relationships with faculty members, and students have many opportunities for applied research.

Most programs offer opportunities to practice skills through field experiences, internships, and practicum experiences in university counseling centers. The college offers master's, specialist, and doctoral degree programs in a variety of subjects.

Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services
Emphasizing a balance between classroom and experiential learning, graduate programs in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services prepare you to help people manage difficult life events and empower them to consider change. You'll be trained to work as a school, community agency, mental health, or vocational rehabilitation counselor or as a social and counseling psychologist. As part of your training, you'll have opportunities for practicum and internship experiences in the department-operated counseling clinic and at local schools and hospitals.

Educational Psychology

Through the study of human development, memory, learning, and cognition in educational settings, graduate programs in the Department of Educational Psychology guide you in the discovery of how and why individuals learn.
