Graduates will hear former Cardinals, NFL standout Bishop
Blaine Bishop, a 1993 Ball State alumnus and 10-year veteran of the National Football League, will be the principal speaker at Ball State University's annual Winter Commencement on Dec. 20. President Jo Ann M. Gora will present him with the President's Medal of Distinction and award two honorary degrees during the ceremony. FULL STORY

Museum of Art to open two new fantasy exhibitions
Museum of Art exhibitions will feature Fantasy and Fairy Tales and Almost Alice: New Illustrations of Wonderland by Maggie Taylor from Jan. 16 through March 22. FULL STORY

Michael Hicks, director of Ball State's Center for Business and Economic Research, addressed several hundred area business leaders Dec. 9 during the 13th annual Indiana Economic Outlook luncheon at the Horizon Convention Center. Hicks says that Indiana is in much better economic shape than its neighbors but as many as 27,000 additional jobs will be lost in the first two fiscal quarters of 2009.
