Dear Directors and Sponsors of Marching Band Invitational Contest and Festivals;

                        We hope that all of you are making the best of this wonderful winter weather.  Believe it or not, it is time to again consider the fall marching band competition season.  We are beginning the process of determining the availability of marching band invitational contest and festivals of the 2003 season, for the purpose of publishing the 15th annual edition of the Indiana Marching Field Competition and Festival Composite.  We wish to publish this BEFORE May 1, 2003.

                        As you may know, the 2003 ISSMA District, Regional, and Finals contest dates are October 4, 18, and 25.  These dates will have an impact on the invitational contest schedule around the state.  We do not want to delay in getting out composite information out to all band directors.  If you are planning to sponsor an invitational contest or festival this fall, please assist our efforts by returning the information form to our office by April 11, 2003. 

                        This year we are trying something different with the composite so that we can receive and distribute the information.  You must go to the information form and then fill out the application online.  Then print out the information form from your printer and mail the form and application fee to the address below.  After your application and fee has been received you will be receiving a phone call or email letter from our office that confirms that we have received your information.  

                        We are charging a fee of $10.00 for your invitational or festival listing, in order to offset the escalating costs of mailing and publishing.  If you know someone who will be hosting a marching band invitational competition or festival for the first time, please urge him or her to contact us.  As always, we are striving for the inclusion of all marching band invitational and festivals in the state.
