While in graduate school at Ball State studying emerging media design and development, Emily learned about brainstorming design concepts and transmedia storytelling. That approach uses various media — including interactive, digital and traditional marketing, plus augmented and virtual reality — to help tell stories. She brings those skills, plus her graphic design and creative thinking talents, to projects she works on for Ball State.
Before joining Ball State, Emily was a graphic designer and social media coordinator for D.L. Couch, a national distributor of draperies, upholstery, and wallcoverings. She also briefly contributed her design skills to the mortgage industry.
Emily is from New Castle, Indiana, and lives there with her fiancé; cat, Luna, named after Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter fame; and dog, Lenny, who is a mini-Australian shepherd. She loves to travel and enjoys working as a wedding photographer on weekends.
