Director of Athletics
Beth Goetz became Ball State University’s director of Athletics in June 2018. As director, Ms. Goetz provides leadership for athletic programs and activities that fully conform with institutional, Mid-American Conference (MAC), and NCAA rules and guidelines. She directly supervises 19 Division I intercollegiate sports teams, all head coaches, and the senior athletic department professional staff.
Prior to arriving at Ball State, Ms. Goetz spent the previous two years as chief operating officer and senior woman administrator at the University of Connecticut, where she had oversight for all internal areas and the day-to-day operations of the UConn Division of Athletics. Before UConn, Ms. Goetz served in key leadership roles at the University of Minnesota, Butler University, and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
In college, Ms. Goetz was an accomplished Division I student-athlete, playing soccer at Clemson University. Before Clemson, she earned All-America recognition at Brevard College (N.C.), and she was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2017.
Ms. Goetz earned an associate of arts from Brevard in 1994 and a bachelor of arts in psychology from Clemson in 1996. She received her master’s degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2000.
