Haley Parnel is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social Psychology. For the past four years, she has dedicated herself to psychological and political research, examining the intersections of stigma and different minority statuses across cultures. She is enjoying her first year as the Field Studies Graduate Assistant in the Study Abroad Office because it provides her with a culturally rich environment that helps to provide an extensive world view outside of dominant Western viewpoints currently overrepresented in research. As the Field Studies Graduate Assistant, she acts as project manager for all Faculty-Led study abroad programs through creating resources and materials for students and fostering relationships with BSU faculty members while bridging the gap between student academic demand, faculty inquiry, and global demand.
