In the painting concentration, you will explore your individual vision within the context of developing disciplined studio practices in watercolors, oils, temperas, acrylics, and more. You’ll develop your work and voice within a wide range of technical, aesthetic, and conceptual approaches related to painting.

Critiques and seminars led by faculty and visiting artists provide you with the form and structure to discuss your work in relation to contemporary art issues. All classes emphasize individual aesthetic choices and expression, as well as the exploration of contemporary critical issues.

You are encouraged to take responsibility for the definition and direction of your work.
