Created in 2018, CAP’s Inclusive Excellence Committee helps to cultivate a culture of inclusive excellence in accordance with our University’s mission and strategic plan.
Who We Are
The R. Wayne Estopinal College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) Inclusive Excellence Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. We are advocates for diversity, equity, access, and belonging with the active intention to cultivate and sustain equitable and inclusive learning and a work environment that respects and values the contributions of all.
Our Mission
We strive to listen, learn, grow, and create ongoing dialogue to critically and thoughtfully respond to the realities of the effects of systemic racism and social injustice by transforming our academic community into a place where all can thrive and realize their full potential.
Our Goals
CAP's Inclusive Excellence Committee has the following goals:
- Facilitate racial and social justice learning opportunities for faculty, students, and staff.
- Support immersive learning opportunities that increase cultural competency.
- Collaborate in the evaluation, review, and renewal of curriculum to identify ways to ensure integration of diverse cultural and social perspectives.
- Advance policies that cultivate and enrich diversity, equity, access, and inclusion throughout the college and its disciplines.
- Coordinate our efforts with the programs and policies advanced at the University level.
