Jorn Seemann
Assistant Professor of Geography
Jörn Seemann is an assistant professor of geography with a research focus on the relations between maps and society. He is particularly interested in cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives, including mental maps, cartographic education, and creative ways of thinking, perceiving, and representing space and place. His regional focus is Latin America, with emphasis on Brazil. Seemann received his master’s degree in geography from Universität Hamburg in Germany (1994) and his PhD from Louisiana State University (2010).
